AB1 Building will be temporarily offline on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, due to freezing temperatures causing the sprinkler to malfunction resulting in flooding from the third floor to the basement. All classes scheduled in the AB1 Building will be held remotely. All other buildings are open for regular operations. For students enrolled in AB1-building classes who need access for their remote instruction, there are computers available in the computer labs that will enable you to logon to your class.

Change of Major

decorative

All matriculated students must officially declare a major by their thirty (30) credits mark. Financial Aid will not cover students in the undeclared major beyond the thirty credits.

The Change of Major (COM)/Change of Academic Plan (COAP) is a fully online process. Students must meet with their academic advisor to discuss degree requirements and initiate the COM/COAP process.

To streamline this process for all of our students, academic advisors will submit official COM/COAP requests to the Registrar’s Office at changeofmajor@mec.cuny.edu with the following information:

Please include the student’s name and desired major/plan in the subject (ex. Joe Doe- Change of Major or COM to BSN) line of your email.
