The Developmental Education Implementation Center

The School of Education provides professional development opportunities for content faculty working in these developmental areas to hone their skills in instructional delivery, progress monitoring, and assessment of and for learning among diverse learners. The Department of Developmental and Special Education in the School of Education utilizes a quasi-Laboratory School model as a unique approach to delivering high quality and targeted instruction to college students with diverse abilities, and simultaneously engage faculty in research and practice in the science and art of teaching to address the inter-individual and intra-individual variations in learning among adult students. Under the School of Education, a major goal of the Department of Developmental and Special Education is to ensure that all students at all levels of ability and preparedness meet their fullest academic potential.
