Course Sequences for Degree Programs

Our degree programs are accredited by both the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).  They are also greatly enhanced by the ongoing fieldwork that students receive from the beginning and throughout the entire course of these programs, whereby students are placed in community schools to conduct course-related projects; empowering students with a familiarity of the overall nature and nuances of urban pre- and elementary school settings from early on in their time in the program ‒otherwise known as Early Field Experiences.   Students’ learning and development in these programs are further enhanced by our department’s Laboratory School for Special Education and the Center for Cognitive Development.
