Medgar Evers College Public Administration program ranked No. 8 in the country

Medgar Evers College is ranked No. 8 in the latest release of College Rank’s top Public Administration programs across the United States.

The Public Administration major is housed within Medgar Evers College’s School of Business.

According to College Rank, “the public administration field is growing faster than ever. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 17% growth rate through 2029. This will open an estimated 29,800 new public administration careers.”

The ranking puts Medgar Evers College among standout schools in the top 10, including Texas A&M-College Station, Rutgers University, University of Kansas and the University of Central Florida – all massive universities with 50,000-plus students.

Medgar Evers College has roughly 4,000 students.

It also puts Medgar Evers College ahead of well-regarded universities such as San Diego State, University of Colorado-Denver, Old Dominion, University of Arizona, University of Tennessee-Knoxville and Kean University.

CUNY sister-school John Jay College of Criminal Justice is ranked No. 22.

College Rank pointed to the plethora of focus options at Medgar Evers College for the positive ranking, with public policy, public sector management, non-profit administration, urban administration, international administration and criminal justice all noted by the outlet.

The methodology behind College Rank’s rankings includes the following:

  • 40% potential salary after graduation
  • 30% individual program accreditation
  • 30% overall affordability
