Petrie Foundation Student Emergency Fund

Are you behind in rent? Do you have past due utility bills? Do you need a Metrocard or food voucher? or perhaps assistance purchasing textbooks? The Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation Student Emergency Fund, in partnership with the Medgar Evers College Office of Student Affairs, provides a ONE-TIME financial assistance to FULL-TIME students with a minimum 2.0 GPA, who are faced with a financial emergency.

Applications can be obtained on-line at www.mec.cuny.edu/petrie.

The Fund cannot be used for the following:
· Paying tuition
· Resolving previous debts to the college
· Obtaining legal representation
· Seeking legal representation in a criminal matter

Completed applications must be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs (Room 306 in the Student Services (S) Building). All necessary support documentation must be submitted with the completed application along with the Applicant Agreement. All applicants MUST demonstrate that they have exhausted all other options. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.

First Semester Freshman and First Semester Transfer Students Are NOT Eligible

NOTE: Students are eligible to apply for assistance once per academic year. If you applied, and received assistance, in the fall 2017 semester then you are not eligible to apply again in the spring.
