Mandatory Professional Licensing Disclosure
The programs at Medgar Evers College’s Department of Nursing in the School of Science and Allied Health are registered by the New York State Education Department and thus meet the educational requirements for licensure/certification for New York State. Through a reasonable faith effort and for the purpose of complying with the Federal Regulations’ amendment (CFR 668) effective July 1, 2024, we have determined that the programs meet the educational requirements for licensure/certification in New York.
It is important to note that Medgar Evers College’s Department of Nursing in the School of Science and Allied Health is not the licensure authority in the United States and cannot assess whether an individual candidate will be issued a license in states outside of New York. However, Medgar Evers College is responsible for determining whether its academic programs that lead to professional licensure or certification meet the educational requirements for licensure in each U.S. state and territory where the College enrolls or intends to enroll students.
For each program that leads to licensure or certification, the College has made the following determinations:
Meets educational requirements: [NY]
Does not meet educational requirements: [None identified at this time]
No determination has been made: [AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY, DC, PR, GU, VI, AS, MP]
These determinations are based on the educational requirements for licensure that are publicly available at the time of review. Requirements for licensure vary by state and are subject to change.
In addition to completing an approved academic program, most states require applicants to complete additional steps to obtain licensure or certification, such as examinations, background checks, or supervised clinical experiences.
The College will update this information as needed to reflect changes in state requirements or program offerings.
Federal regulations require institutions delivering courses by distance education to provide students or prospective students with contact information for filing complaints with the state approval or licensing entity. For students from SARA participating institutions please see the institution’s NC-SARA Student Complaint Process.
