Researchers in the Chemistry and Environmental Science (CES) Department are investigating stability of planetary atmospheres, life habitability, indoor/outdoor health, battery efficiency, and biofuel production from waste. CES research takes advantage of Medgar Evers College’s strengths in fundamental science and interdisciplinary collaboration, with faculty and students partnering across departments and with colleagues at the Brookhaven National Lab (BNL), NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA-JPL), Caltech, Instituto de Química Física Rocasolano, CSIC, Berlin’s Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), and the Instituto de Astrof ́ısica de Andalucia. The CES Department has three major research thrusts: Numerical-Modeling of Planetary Atmospheres, Indoor/Outdoor Health, and Renewable and Sustainable Energy.
