Institutional Accreditations

In addition to the regional accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), Medgar Evers College maintains accreditation with several professional organizations to affirm the quality and rigor of our programs.

Specialized Accreditation

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)
Medgar Evers College, CUNY-School of Global Education is accredited through 2026 at the initial-licensure level based on the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Standards. CAEP is the only recognized national accreditor for educator preparation. CAEP promotes excellence in educator preparation through quality assurance and continuous improvement

Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)
The School of Business at Medgar Evers College/CUNY offers the following degree programs which are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) is a leading specialized accreditation association for business education — supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence. The next reaffirmation is scheduled for 2024.

Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
The RN-BS and A.A.S nursing programs at Medgar Evers College are accredited by the: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The most recent accreditation decision made by the ACEN Board of Commissioners for the RN-BS and A.A.S nursing programs is Continuing Accreditation with follow-up report due Fall 2025. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for Fall 2031

New York State Education Department (NYSED)

The Department of Nursing Practical Nursing program is accredited by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). The next evaluation visit is scheduled for Spring 2026.

Council on Social Work Education

The Department of Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation. The Department is accredited through October 2024.
