Elijah Logan Scholarship

The Elijah Logan Scholarship, established by Elijah’s family and Medgar Evers College in his honor, celebrates the legacy of Elijah Logan, a Medgar Evers College student in the Public Administration Department who passed away on September 25, 2022. An aspiring community organizer, Elijah had a strong interest in studying Law and Public Policy. The Scholarship supports students whose passion for public service aligns with that of Elijah.The Elijah Logan Scholarship fund is open for Medgar Evers College students to apply. The award will be a scholarship for $2,000.ELIGIBILITY / REQUIREMENTSApplicants must be:

  • From the African Diaspora (Diaspora includes, but is not limited to, African Americans,  Afro-Caribbean’s, Afro-Latinx, Black people that are overall descendants of enslaved people and people of native African origin living outside the continent).
  • Enrolled full-time at Medgar Evers College.
  • Majoring in Public Administration at Medgar Evers College.
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) no higher than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Engaged in community service.
  • Have a demonstrated love for food, fashion, and/or music.

ESSAY or MULTI-MEDIA PRESENTATION

  • A 300-word essay describing your engagement in community service.
  • A multi-media presentation may be submitted in lieu of a written essay.
