Ratification Process

The ratification process for amendments to the Governance Plan of Medgar Evers College, as stated in Article 12 Section 3, is as follows:

  1. A notification of any proposed amendment shall be widely disseminated across the college community at least two (2) weeks before the ratification vote.
  2. Once distributed, a ballot must be open for at least one week for voting by secret ballot.
  3. An amendment(s) shall be deemed ratified if approved by (1) a majority of the voting faculty and (2) a majority of the voting non-faculty instructional staff or students.
  4. A ratified amendment(s) is forwarded to the CUNY Board of Trustees for approval.
