Reproductive Wellness Amidst COVID-19
During COVID-19 recent events have raised concerns that Gynecologic/Reproductive medical care is being delayed as most of us are obligated to stay home. For the young adult population, this might mean having to discontinue current contraceptives or to delay placement of long-acting reversible contraceptives. In response, the Family Medicine clinic at Downstate has recently added telemedicine capability, such that patients can seek care remotely. The clinic will also remain open during this period if patients are in need of IUD/Nexplanon placement. They have same-week appointments available.
