Single Use Plastic Reduction Policy

Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (CUNY) is committed to the CUNY Board of Trustees Single-Use Plastic Resolution that adopts New York State Governor Kathy Hochul’s Legislation S, S6815/A 7564 through the enactment of Section 6206, Subdivision 21 of the New York State Education Law. The Mandate addresses the need for a policy that reduces and manages Single-Use plastic items on SUNY and CUNY campuses. The senior administration of Medgar Evers College recognizes the harmful and lasting impact of plastic products on the environment. The senior administration of the College has created a task force involving faculty, staff, and students to develop a standard, seamless, and sustainable Policy that will reduce Single-Use plastic at Medgar Evers College.
