This notice serves as an urgent reminder that the deadline for students to file a SAP appeal for the spring 2024 semester is Friday, January 12th , 2024.  An approved SAP appeal may reinstate your federal aid. To complete a SAP appeal please follow the steps below.

It is highly recommended that you complete this task on a desktop or laptop when you have more than 10 mins to dedicate to it.

  1. Contact your academic advisor for assistance with creating an academic plan (The Advisement Center can be reached at or 718-270-5170)
  2. Login to you CUNYFirst account
  3. Look for the tab that reads Student Services
  4. Click on Task and Hold
  5. Click Verify my FAFSA or Satisfactory Academic Progress
  6. This will take you to student forms where you will need to create an account or login to your account with a two-step verification.
  7. Once you are logged in to your account you will see your “TO DO LIST”
  8. Click on the item you wish to complete. (Note: the SAP appeal has 3 different tasks that must be completed in order to submit your SAP appeal form)
  9. MAKE SURE YOU CLICK SUBMIT after you have completed all 3 tasks.
