AB1 Building Reopening: The AB1 Building will reopen on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, for all scheduled activities, except for select offices on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors. Faculty and staff in affected offices will receive separate instructions. All other areas of the AB-1 building and all other campus buildings will be operational.

SAP Appeal Instructions

An approved SAP appeal may reinstate your federal aid. To complete a SAP appeal please follow the steps below.

It is highly recommended that you complete this task on a desktop or laptop when you have more than 10 mins to dedicate to it.

  1. Contact your academic advisor for assistance with creating an academic plan (The Advisement Center can be reached at acadvisecenter@mec.cuny.edu or 718-270-5170)
  2. Login to you CUNYFirst account
  3. Look for the tab that reads Student Services
  4. Click on Task and Hold
  5. Click Verify my FAFSA or Satisfactory Academic Progress
  6. This will take you to student forms where you will need to create an account or login to your account with a two-step verification.
  7. Once you are logged in to your account you will see your “TO DO LIST”
  8. Click on the item you wish to complete. (Note: the SAP appeal has 3 different tasks that must be completed in order to submit your SAP appeal form)
  9. MAKE SURE YOU CLICK SUBMIT after you have completed all 3 tasks.
