Bio

Dr. Mujtaba advanced the field of Epigenetics by elucidating the biological consequences of lysine acetylation in models most significant to human health and diseases. Dr. Mujtaba’s research has received reviews from experts - he has more than 45 publications in high-impact journals, and books. His patent is directed to the development of potential therapy for chronic human diseases. He has received several funding support from NIH. He serve as reviewer for scientific journals and funding agencies. He received several CUNY grants. Additionally, his pedagogical interests are centered on identifying and addressing the unique challenges for increasing the national STEM workforce. He is the recipient of Dean Research excellence and Outstanding Mentor Awards. His goal is to blend laboratory and pedagogical research to make STEM education more inclusive and accessible.
