Bio
I am Jean Marc Cadet. I was born and raised in Haiti. I speak Haitian Creole, French and English as my third language. I earned my first two degrees from the State of University of Haiti in Mathematics and Education. Years later, I graduated with a MA. in Mathematics from Brooklyn College. I have over 20 years of teaching experience, having taught at Medgar Evers College for the past 7 years. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy God’s presence, listening to audio books on leadership, watching Sports, shopping, going to the park with my brothers and friends. Knowing who you are can be the most powerful weapon you need to be successful in life. I had taught that life is full of challenges, but resources within yourself can overcome them. I grew up with a physical challenge in Haiti where accessibility and accommodations to attain school or University are practically nonexistent. After my first degree in Mathematics, I struggled to find my first teaching position because people believed I won’t be able to manage classroom situation. However, after my first teaching job in Haiti, I dispel that perception’s view about people who have physical conditions. In brief, the year 2025 marks my 25th years of teaching experience combining Haiti and USA.
