The Voices Play
Apr 25 at 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The NAACP Medgar Evers College Chapter and the Student Government Association cordially invite you to The Voices Play, a theatrical performance in honor of the African Diaspora as a part of the Thrivent Youth Advisory Council Action Teams Projects.
The Voices play was developed to amplify the unheard stories of endurance from African men and women documented in the book by the same name. The stories are autobiographical, and the speeches from the play are direct interpretations of the narratives from real men and women during the Middle Passage. This play seeks to enshrine the endurance of the African diaspora and to educate youth on the importance of carrying this legacy of fortitude forward.
This play is based on an autobiographical book of the same name by Mr. Eugene Pursoo, a former United Nations Ambassador for Grenada and currently serving in the Caribbean Research Center.
We extend a cordial invitation for students, families, and the community at large to witness this play free of charge.
