This fall, our college community comes together to celebrate and honor the diverse stories, traditions, and resilience of Hispanic communities in “Familia: Bridging Generations, Culture and Ancestry.”

We invite students, faculty, staff, and neighbors to join us in a series of gatherings that connect past and present through our collective identity. Come in and share with us the joy, the culture, and the spirit of our community. Among the events that will be going on will be a screening of the short film The Resilient Coqui, panels on “Latine Contributions to the Arts,” Garifuna culture and “The Diaspora Speaks!: Language, Culture & Identity at the Margins.” Councilwoman Alexa Avilés will also be receiving the Latine Trailblazer Award on Friday, October 16 at 5 p.m. at the Edwin O. Jackson Auditorium
