Just 10 days ago, the Medgar Evers College men’s outdoor track team made history with their first CUNYAC title — so it’s no surprise that the postseason awards are dominated by standout Cougars.

Please help us congratulate the following athletes and coach on their conference awards:

  • Field Athlete of the Year: Chrisnel Nicolas
  • Track Athlete of the Year: Jahiem Johnson
  • Rookie of the Year: Rupert Luard-Charles
  • Coach of the Year: Hugh Reid

Adding to the team’s accolades, a number of the student-athletes were also named to the 2024 CUNYAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field All-Star Team, including:

  • Jaheim Johnson
  • Rupert Luard-Charles
  • Dontay Washington
  • Saibo Ceesay
  • Adeolu Adeyemi
  • Christopher Richards
  • Chrisnel Nicolas

Meanwhile, the Medgar Evers College women’s team finished second at the CUNYAC Championships and were well-represented with postseason honors:

  • Rookie of the Year: Desireth Ramirez (also MVP of the conference meet)
  • Sportsmanship Team: Aaliyah Bartholomew

Much like the men, the 2024 CUNYAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field All-Star Team was dominated by MEC athletes:

  • Imani Richardson
  • Desireth Ramirez
  • Aaliyah Bartholomew
  • Nana Samake
  • Jada Lambert
  • Torey Richards

Congratulations, Cougars!
