Summer Youth Employment Program
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides employment opportunities to NYC youth aged 14-24. It is funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). SYEP aims to develop workplace skills, foster career exploration, and build pathways to economic independence.
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) significantly impacts the lives of young individuals in New York City by providing them with essential career exploration opportunities and paid work experiences each summer. By connecting youth aged 14 to 24 with real-world job experiences, enhancing their professional skills, and promoting personal growth. The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is sponsored by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development. Through a lottery selection process, New York City youth between the ages of 16 and 24 are provided with six weeks of summer employment and educational experiences that build on their individual strengths and introduce them to the world of work.
