1. An attempt is defined as having registered in the course for at least three weeks and appeared on the roster and/or received any grade (academic or administrative).
  2. A withdrawal from a nursing course is a first attempt.
  3. A student is allowed to withdraw twice from a course.
  4. To progress in the nursing program, students must complete level requisite courses.
  5. A student who withdraws for non-academic reasons must provide appropriate documentation to support the withdrawal.
Important Registration and Withdrawal Information

This Nursing Program Withdrawal Policy describes program‑specific academic requirements
and limitations. All students must also follow the official college‑wide add, drop, and
withdrawal policies, procedures, and deadlines established by the Office of the Registrar.

Review the Registrar’s Add / Drop / Withdrawal policies.

There is no re-entry for students who have failed out of the program (failed 2 nursing courses). The student failing 2 nursing courses must see the Chair, and an advisor in Academic Advising Center (AAC) to provide guidance relative to other career options.

A student who withdraws for non-academic reasons must provide appropriate documentation to support the withdrawal.

The following student behaviors may lead to program dismissal (involuntary program withdrawal).

  • Unexcused absences according to the nursing policy
  • Unprofessional conduct
  • Failure to respond to a clinical error to the nursing personnel
