Shutdown Threatens Food Security. Support the Cougar Country Pantry.
Due to the federal government shutdown, millions of Americans—including many Medgar Evers College students and their families—will lose SNAP food assistance beginning November 1, 2025.
In response, the Transition Academy is expanding services through the Cougar Country Pantry to help meet the increased need. In line with our mission, we remain committed to providing fresh, healthy food and personal care items for anyone in need, because access to food is a human right.
We invite our campus community to join us in supporting students during this difficult time:
- Donate non-perishable food items to the Cougar Country Pantry, 1637 Bedford Avenue, Room S-212, Brooklyn, New York 11225
- Contribute monetary donations to the Transition Academy through the Educational Foundation
All donations directly benefit Medgar Evers College students, helping provide essential groceries and food vouchers for items not available in the pantry.
Together, we can ensure that no student faces these challenges alone. Thank you for standing with and supporting our students.
