Student Research
At Medgar Evers College, student research is a cornerstone of academic exploration and growth. Our students engage in faculty-mentored projects across a variety of disciplines, developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and presentation skills that prepare them for graduate study and professional success.
Conference Participation
Our students proudly represent Medgar Evers College at academic conferences across the country. These events offer valuable opportunities to present original research, network with peers and professionals, and gain exposure to the broader academic community.
2025 NCUR Conference
The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is a premier event dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity across all fields of study.
At NCUR 2025, our ICORP students again represented our program by presenting their research to a national audience of peers and faculty mentors. The participating students and their presentation formats were:
- Ghavita Sugrim – Poster presentation on “Racial Bias in Education: A Case Study for African Americans”
- Nadisha Hall – Poster presentation on “Gendered Pathways to Smoking Initiation Among African Americans”
2024 MSCHE Annual Conference
The MSCHE Annual Conference brings together higher education professionals to discuss trends, share research, and explore innovative practices in academia.
At MSCHE 2024, ICORP was proud to send a delegation of student researchers whose presence underscored our commitment to academic excellence and professional development. The students who presented and their topics were:
