Bio
Dr. Omoniyi Pereao is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Environmental Science at Medgar Evers College, City University of New York. His research focused on the synthesis, and characterization of electrospun functional nanofiber frameworks for applications in metal and emerging micropollutant removal, and in nanofiltration. His other research interests are in ecotoxicity studies, microplastics, and toxicological risk in the environment and the overall goal of his research is to address challenges related to improving ecosystem and water quality. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at Cape Peninsula University of Technology and the University of the Western Cape. He has been a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals and participated actively in more than 10 sponsored projects, supported by different funding agencies. He has published more than 25 journal articles, books, and book chapters.
