Rock the vote! Medgar Evers College student government reps, student activity fee on ballot

The Medgar Evers College (MEC) Student Government Association Online Elections begins on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 12:03 AM and ends on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 5:00 PM

Enrolled MEC students are members of the Student Government Association (SGA). Exercise your rights and make your vote count by voting for your SGA officers and on the Student Activity Referendum.

Student Body Elections

The SGA has budgetary oversight of all student clubs and organizations, as well as the SGA funds generated from your student activity fee. The student activity fee provides additional resources to areas such as the Writing Center, Learning Center, Differently Abled Services, and extra-curricular programming.

The SGA also participates in various college-wide and departmental committees and has the opportunity to take part in the planning and governance of academic and non-academic aspects of student life at Medgar Evers College.

All matriculated students are eligible to vote for executive board positions, and council positions for their respective classes. A degree-seeking (matriculated) student may vote for one (1) candidate for each executive board position, one (1) candidate for the class president within their class designation, and up to three (3) candidates for the class representatives within their class designation.
