Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Preparation Course
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) care for the sick or injured in emergency situations. Peopleâ€™s lives often depend on their quick reaction and competent care. Through our hands on training, you will learn how to respond to 911 calls, wound care, assessing a patientâ€™s condition, patient transport, etc. Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared to earn your EMT Certification from the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. (170+ hrs.) Tuition does not include text or exam fees.
Program Accredited by: New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
Entry Requirements: High School Diploma or HSE.
Full Program Tuition: $1195.
The program consists of the following sections: Preparatory, Airway, CPR, Patient Assessment, Medical, Environmental and Trauma Emergencies with inclusion of Terrorism and Weapons of Mass Destruction, Infants, Children, Geriatrics and Ambulance Operations.
Clinical rotations consist of 10 hours in an emergency room and students will also ride as observers for one-eight hour shift with a FDNY ambulance response unit.
