While the festival of Sukkot lasts for 8 days\, the first 2 days are considered day of rest\, similar to the Jewish Sabbath. \nReligious/Ethnic Group: Jewish \nTradition/Practices: Observers build temporary dwellings outside (known as a sukkah) and are commanded to spend the festival eating their meals and sleeping outdoors in the sukkah.
