DESCRIPTION:On the second day of the Rock Your Health celebration\, please join us from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in AB1 for the following festivities (plus Taco Wednesday!): \n  \nFitness Challenge\, (9-11 a.m.) \nSecond Floor\, AB1 \n••• \nExploration Cancer \nNursing Students Simulation and Presentations (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) \nSecond Floor\, AB1 \nMedgar Evers College’s award-winning Nursing Department will bring you inside of three distinct Cancer Awareness stations\, including: \nSymptom Recognition  \nLearners interact with lifelike simulation models that demonstrate various cancer symptoms. This interactive experience aids in recognizing typical signs of cancer and knowing when to consult a medical professional. \nSupportive Care \nSimulation scenarios focused on the psychosocial aspects of cancer care\, such as delivering bad news\, providing emotional support to patients and their families\, and discussing palliative care options\, can enhance participants’ empathy and communication skills. \nCancer Prevention Activities  \nDuring the interactive session in the simulation center’s studio apartment\, participants collaborate to explore lifestyle modifications and risk factor reduction strategies for preventing various types of cancer.
