International Conference on Business and Economic Development (ICBED) | Day One
June 10, 2021 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Free for MEC faculty, students, and staffMedgar Evers College and the Centre for Business and Economic Research host the 10th International Conference on Business and Economic Development (ICBED) from June 10 to 12, 2021.
The world of business is undergoing a time of considerable stress, change, and in some sectors unprecedented growth. Much of the conventional wisdom concerning business education and theory is being challenged, and so it is all the more important to elucidate what is taking place. Economic certainties look increasingly vulnerable, and existing formulas appear jaded and in some cases moribund. Where once academics were fixated on global brands and multi-nationals, increasingly the role of small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) is coming to the fore. Governments from Armenia to Somaliland are keen to find ways to stimulate business and therefore create local employment.
Toward this end, the conference sub-themes include:
- Business and Economic Development Post COVID-19
- Re-Engineering Business Education in the New Norm
Medgar Evers College faculty and staff are among the more than 70 presenters, representing 25 countries. President Patricia Ramsey will greet conference participants on Friday, June 11.
This virtual conference is open to MEC faculty, staff, and students. For details, conference program, and a list of presenters, visit this page.
