Receive Research Training: Participants will receive their research training in a research laboratory at Medgar Evers College, SUNY Downstate Medical Center, School of Graduate Studies and other host labs under the overall supervision of a research active faculty.
Professional development: RISE students shall participate in a number of seminars, workshops and courses to ensure their academic success.
Mentoring: Each RISE student will receive mentoring and academic advisement from their faculty, research mentors and program staff.
Conference attendance: The students shall present results of their research either orally or as a scientific poster in one or more local and national conferences. The program will support expenses for such conference attendance.
Financial support: RISE students will receive support in the form of salary. They will receive compensation for up to 15 (fifteen) hours per week during the semester (Spring and fall) and up to 35 hours per week during the intersession and summer @$15.00/hour.
