RISE students Won for their research
Lawal Oluwadamilola’s research poster received first prize in the Biochemistry group at the18th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in the Chemical and Biological Sciences held at UMBC and the second prize at the 48th MACUB conference. Congratulations Lawal and his research mentors at the Reseller Polytechnic University where he did his summer internship. Lawal is a recipient of several SSH&T awards including 2015 $5000.00 National Grid STEM Award. Lawal is now in the neuroscience Ph.D. program at the Duke University, NC.
Jermaine Wilson’s research poster received third prize in the Developmental Biology section of the 48th Annual MACUB Conference. Congratulations Jermaine and his research mentor Medgar Evers College biology faculty Dr. Chiyedza Small. This prize-winning research work has been done in Dr. Small’s lab utilizing core research facilities at MEC.
Lawal Oluwadamilola was one of the 100 students selected from among over 1800 student participants to present his research orally at the 15th Annual Biomedical Conference for Minority Students. Congratulations Lawal for being selected and for making an outstanding presentation. Biology faculty Dr. William Carr has been his mentor at MEC.
