POISED

The Perfect Opportunity for Individual Skills and Educational Development (P.O.I.S.E.D.) for Success Program provides education and employment skills training for pregnant women and mothers of young children. Read on to learn more!

The P.O.I.S.E.D. for Success program is funded by and operated in collaboration with the Family Independence Administration of the City of New York Human Resources Administration (HRA) . Participation is limited to women who are receiving Family Assistance or Safety Net Assistance benefits and are either pregnant or have a child under three years of age. All participants must be assigned to the program by HRA.

SERVICES

P.O.I.S.E.D. FOR SUCCESS - (ON CAMPUS)
Are you the mother of a child under 3 years of age? Do you receive Family Assistance? If the answer to both questions is YES, then P.O.I.S.E.D. for Success may be able to help you! Participating in P.O.I.S.E.D. for Success allows you to attend a program at a CUNY campus to develop health, parenting, computer and academic skills, and to receive help with job preparation, and also, meets the Family Assistance Program’s full-time work requirement!

P.O.I.S.E.D. AT HOME

Are you pregnant and homebound or the mother of a baby under 9 weeks of age? Do you receive Family Assistance? If the answer to both questions is YES, then P.O.I.S.E.D. at Home may be able to help you! Participation in P.O.I.S.E.D. at Home allows you to improve your academic and parenting skills and plan for employment – all from the comfort of your home! This program also advises you on how to care for yourself and your family.

Mr. Lindsay Pierre has been with the City University of New York for 15 years.  With experience in both public snd private sectors, Mr. Pierre has a proven track record of helping individuals toward self empowerment.   As Director of the POISED for Success program, he and his team are committed to "changing minds and changing lives".
