Immigration Center

The Immigration Center is an organization designed to provide free legal immigration services and language translation to low-income immigrants in Central Brooklyn, New York. To celebrate its opening, the College held a special reception on April 7, 2005 at 9:00 am in the Center's main office at 1150 Carroll Street in Room P2. The reception featured remarks from Dr. Edison O. Jackson, President of Medgar Evers College.

Funded by a grant, The New York City Council provides expert immigration lawyers, counselors, and case managers. The Immigration Center was created to help immigrants and their families adapt to government agencies and services. In addition to legal services and language translation, the Center plans to provide community residents with free civics classes, naturalization training, and workshops on the procurement of student visas and sponsorship, the educational
system, the foster care system, and the juvenile justice system.

The Center is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
