Medgar Evers College is Venue for Senator Gillibrand’s
Town Hall Meeting

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York) came to Medgar Evers College on Sunday, September 10 as part of a series of Town Hall meetings she has held across the state. The events were an opportunity for constituents to question Senator Gillibrand on a range of subjects.

Senator Gillibrand thanked the College for hosting the town hall, which filled the Founders Auditorium. She referred to College namesake Medgar Wiley Evers as “an amazing civil rights icon who knew what it meant to sacrifice and fight.”

Senator Gillibrand took questions on several topics: The rescinding of DACA; New York’s preparation for a hurricane; protecting elections from foreign intrusion; homeless shelters and housing; affordable health care; tax reform; Title IX; Charter Schools; LGBTQ rights and more.
