Nursing PN--Overview

The Certificate Practical Nursing (CPN) Program is a day program and requires full-time attendance upon admission into the clinical phase.

Student Advocacy and Support Services Center
The Student Advocacy and Support Services Center (SASSC) is a student-oriented center that assists students with their academic concerns.  An assigned SASSC advisor will assist the student with personal-social issues, concerns, and educational-occupational matters.  The SASSC should be your first point of contact for information regarding the CPN Program. The mission of SASSC is also to enable students to achieve their desired educational goals by providing information regarding:

  • academic policies
  • graduation evaluations
  • academic advisement
  • transfer credit information
  • student counseling
  • student re-admission information
  • transcript evaluations
  • scholarship referrals

You may email or call representatives at SASSC:

Assessment of ability to meet program requirements is necessary.  Students will not automatically enter into last course failed.  Available seats may be a factor; therefore students are not guaranteed permission to return at time of request.
Medgar Evers College will award a Certificate in Practical Nursing upon the student's successful completion of all thirty-nine (39) Practical Nursing Program credits.  Graduates are then eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN).
