The Technical Services Department provides technical process of library functions, including acquisition, cataloging, bibliographic access control, preserving and processing materials, serial subscription and maintenance, electronic resources licensing and control, and collection development. The vast majority of the technical service staff and work activities are behind the public scenes. We acquire books, audiovisual materials, and periodicals, and to create a library catalog that keeps materials organized for user to access them. Therefore, we contribute our effort to fulfill the Library mission by acquiring, cataloging, giving bibliographic access, preserving and delivering library materials and electronic resources for the library collection in a timely manner with the highest quality of services and supports. To work in collaboration with faculty librarians and teaching faculty, we are building library collection and providing access to materials and information that support the college curriculum and programs, research needs of students, staff, and faculty, and users of college affiliated local community. The Technical Services Department is located at a rear end room (B0108) of the basement level of the Charles Evan Inniss Memorial Library of the Medgar Evers College.
