Dr. Michael FitzGerald

Dr. Michael FitzGerald is Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy and Religion, specializing in the history of western philosophy. He has served both as Associate Provost and Vice President of Information Technology at Medgar Evers College of The City University of New York. Dr. FitzGerald has held academic appointments at the University of Maryland (European Division) and at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Dr. FitzGerald received the B.A. from Colgate University, and the Ph.D. (Philosophy) from the New School for Social Research. He has held post-doctoral fellowships at the University of California at Berkeley, Cornell University, and Columbia University. At Stanford University, he was a Research Fellow in Academic Computing at the School of Education. From 1990 to 1995 he has was a Fellow in the CUNY-IBM Multimedia Courseware Development Initiative. He has published on issues related to technology in higher education.
