Dear Graduates and Alumni:

Congratulations to the Class of 2008! I commend you on your momentous achievement. Your graduation from Medgar Evers College is the culmination of your hard work. Your current and future successes are proudly shared by the College faculty and staff who have dedicated the last few years to our growth and development. To ensure that the College’s faculty and staff can continue to support future students as they supported us, I ask that each of you make a gift to the College’s Annual Fund.

It is a tradition at most institutions for graduating seniors to bestow a gift upon their respective college, in appreciation for the opportunities and benefits received as undergraduates. The Annual Fund was established in December 2006 to both support student scholarships, and to provide for core needs and special initiatives that are not always provided for in the college’s regular budget, such as library acquisitions, laboratory equipment, software purchases, and training expenses. The Annual Fund provides us a perfect opportunity to give back.

To our current alumni, we want you to know that we recognize and salute you. Your gifts have made it possible for the College to continue the tradition of its mission to serve all those with a genuine desire to learn, regardless of personal circumstances. We hope that the stories contained in this magazine will inspire those of you who have not given to do so, and those of you who have to continue to support your alma mater.

As graduates of Medgar Evers College, you remain a source of pride to us all. We wish you much success in your career, and we hope that you will continue to support the mission of Medgar Evers College, where We Create Success, One Student At A Time.

Finally, we want all alumni to know that we appreciate all contributions to the Annual Fund no matter the amount. No gift is too small to make a difference in the lives of our students.
