Medgar Evers College has been transforming lives in the Central Brooklyn community and beyond since 1970. As we celebrate our 41st Anniversary this year, we remain thankful for your continued partnership throughout our four decades of academic achievement. On Monday, September 19, 2010, we are hosting our Golf Tournament Fundraiser at the beautiful 18-hole championship Dyker Beach Golf Course located at 86th Street and 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.

On behalf of President William L. Pollard, we would like to extend an invitation to you to serve as a sponsor of this tournament. This is a unique opportunity to help actualize the vision and mission of Medgar Evers College as all proceeds from the event will enable the Medgar Evers College Educational Foundation to support student scholarships and enhance college programs.
With your support we will be able to continue supporting student success. Some student highlights from the last school year include:

  • Sophomore Svetlanna Farinha received a NBA Bacardi Gold Standard Scholarship. The Gold Standard Scholarship Program provides academic scholarships of $10,000 to 24 local students in six NBA markets (New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans and Boston). Each of these recipients will be eligible for a larger national scholarship of $30,000 via an online competition to be awarded at a national event;
  • Sophomore Michael Smith was awarded a Walmart Generation First Thurgood Marshall Scholarship for the 2010-2011 school year for $4,400 and a Department of Defense Scholarship for $4,400 scholarship for the 2011-2012 school year;

Current economic conditions have forced budgetary cuts on state and city funded academic institutions such as Medgar Evers College so your financial contribution is even more critical as it ensures that our students continue to receive access to learning experiences that prepare them for today’s competitive world.

Your sponsorship dollars are a tax-deductible contribution, which will support our efforts. All payments may be made out to the Medgar Evers College Educational Foundation, Inc.
Your sponsorship includes the opportunity for unparalleled relationship building opportunities for your business along with prominent signage and acknowledgement. Select the sponsorship level that is right for you and join us for a great game of golf!
