How to Apply to Medgar Evers College

In order to enhance your opportunity for admission, it is advisable that you list Medgar Evers College as your first choice on your application. This will ensure that you are properly placed at Medgar Evers College. Furthermore all applications must be accompanied by a correlated application fee: Freshman - $65.00 application, Transfer $70.00. Payment should be made via money order made out to the University Application Processing Center. Deadlines for applying are as follows: March 15th for the Fall and October 1st for the Spring. Applications that are mailed in after the deadline will be considered on space availability only.


Applying directly at Medgar Evers College:

Applicants are encouraged, when possible, to come directly to the Medgar Evers College Office of Admissions, located at 1665 Bedford Avenue (between Crown Street and Montgomery Street), to complete a freshman, transfer, readmit, or non-degree application and to see an admissions counselor for additional assistance. When all required paperwork is submitted, and admissions criteria are met, immediate acceptance is granted. Applying through the CUNY Office of Admissions Services (OAS):

The City University of New York maintains a central processing center for applying to any of the colleges within the University. Applications may be obtained from any CUNY College admissions office, from high schools in New York City, or you may pick up and or request an application from the Office of Admissions Services (OAS). OAS is located at 1114 Avenue of the Americas, 15th floor (between 42nd Street and 43rd Street), New York, NY 100036-7703. Proper identification is needed to enter the Office of Admissions Services. OAS can be reached by calling 212-997-CUNY. OAS counselors are also there to assist you with the application process.


Mailing your application to the University Application Processing Center (UAPC):

Completed applications can be mailed to the University Application Processing Center (UAPC) at The City University of New York, University Application Processing Center (UAPC), P.O. Box 350136, Brooklyn, NY 11235-0001. Applications are reviewed by the UAPC staff and forwarded to the individual college(s) indicated on the application electronically. Please allow 4 – 8 weeks for your application to processed and forwarded to Medgar Evers College. You may contact the Medgar Evers College Office of Admissions, 718-270-6024, to follow up on your application.


Applying on line:

Applicants may also apply on line at the CUNY Portal. All supporting documents must still be mailed to the University Application Processing Center, and your application fee can be paid electronically or via mail.
