Welcome to Admissions

Direct Admissions is conducted on campus in the Admissions Office located at 1637 Bedford Avenue, suite 120.  The hours of operation are Monday – Thursday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (summer hours are subject to change, so please check with the Admissions Office for the modified hours of operation)

Freshman Applicants

To apply as a freshman, you must meet the following requirements and provide at the time that they apply:

  • Show proof of high school graduation. Only official high school transcripts (in a sealed envelope) and diplomas or TASC (GED) are accepted.

  • Have a high school average of 65 or a 2270 on the TASC (GED score of 2250)

  • Provide proof of residency to qualify for in-state tuition.

  • Submit a $65 money order payable to University Application Processing Center (UAPC).

Transfer Applicants

To apply as a transfer applicants must meet the following requirements and provide at the time that they apply:

  • Official transcript from all previously attended institutions (transcripts must be in a sealed envelope)

  • Proof of high school graduation if college credits earned is less the than 24 credits

  • Provide proof of residency to qualify for in-state tuition

  • Submit a $70 money order payable to the University Application Processing Center (UAPC)

Apply for Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid’s core mission is to ensure that all eligible students enrolled at Medgar Evers College apply and benefit from both Federal and State Financial assistance (including grants, loans, and work-study programs) for education beyond high school.

The ASAP and SEEK programs offer additional academic, personal, and financial supports to MEC students.  The CUNY Start, Math Start, and Immersion programs provide intensive academic preparation.
