The mission of the College’s Office of Environmental & Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) is to save lives, prevent injuries and protect the health of college workers and the environment, and to monitor the College’s compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and other Federal, State and Local Environmental Regulations.

The Medgar Evers College (MEC) EOHS Office, in collaboration with the College’s Department of Information Technology, has developed this website to:

  1. Keep you updated with the College’s environmental & occupational health and safety policies, practices and protocols.
  2. Enable Regulatory Agencies to monitor our activities and provide feedback on matters pertaining to our environmental responsibilities.
  3. Serve as a major resource for the entire college community and also for environmental health and safety personnel at other institutions.
  4. Serve as a mechanism for the effective integration of compliance issues into the curriculum, thereby affording unlimited opportunities for course development and course enrichment, and at the same time bringing the MEC Environmental Science B.S. Degree Program to the forefront of Environmental Compliance.

Note: The links to the OSHA website and to the MEC B.S. in Environmental Science Degree Program webpage remains the same.
