Students and faculty in the Biology-CSTEP program and the MEC/KBCC Bridge program attended the 36th Annual MACUB Conference at Wagner College, Staten Island, NY    November 1, 2003.  posters were presented.

Students and faculty in the MEC/KBCC Bridge program attended the  Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students in San Diego, CA, October 15-18, 2003.   posters were presented and      were selected for oral presentations.

Student Akelia Wauchope received the "Faculty of Biology Award" in recognition of earning the highest Grade Point Average among this year's graduates receiving the B.S. in Biology degree.

11 student research posters were presented at the 11th Annual Statewide CSTEP Conference.  Biology faculty accompanied Biology-CSTEP student participants and Medgar Evers/Kingsborough Bridge student participants to the conference which was held in Lake George NY.

Dr. Margaret A. Carroll received a PSC/CUNY award award (7/1/03 - 6/30/04) to conduct research on "Heavy Metal Accumulation in the American Oyster, Crassostrea virginica, in Jamaica Bay, NY."

Biology-CSTEP student Jonven Attia has been accepted into the NSF-REU Summer Intern Program at the University of Missouri/Columbia.
