Students pursuing the B.S. degree in Accounting may elect an emphasis on Certified Public Accounting or on Managerial Accounting. Graduates who elect the CPA emphasis will be able to sit for the professional CPA examination; those electing the Managerial Accounting emphasis may take the CMA examinations. This alternative professional credential prepares graduates for positions in industry, government, and non-commercial entities where they perform accounting analyses for internal managerial purposes.
