The College Self-Study Steering Committee Invites the College Community to

Public Hearings to Discuss Self-Study Subcommittee Reports

The College Self-Study Steering committee invites the community to public hearings to discuss the initial draft reports submitted by the Self-Study Subcommittees. As outlined in the College Self-Study Design, these hearings are an essential part of the Self Study process.  These hearings will provide an opportunity for Subcommittee members to share their findings with the College community.  By providing open forums for the College community to respond to preliminary findings and to offer constructive feedback, the final report will be strengthened.

We are inviting all College members to attend these meetings and to offer candid assessments, comments and advice to strengthen the reports. The members of the Self-Study Subcommittees are extremely interested in accurately portraying the College’s accomplishments, achievements, and assets as well as the challenges and pertinent issues that our College has and will face as we move into this decennial review of Middle States. We encourage the entire College family to attend as many of the hearings as possible, and to send representatives when conflicts in scheduling do occur.

It is the belief of the Subcommittees that everyone’s input is vital, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant it might appear. Your opinions and observations represent an important and valuable perspective. Subcommittee work has been exemplified by collegial and open deliberations, and the College can only benefit from this continued discourse and reflection.   The Self Study process has promoted an atmosphere of honest assessment and an understanding that opposing views may and can exist within a process that seeks to promote student success and institutional effectiveness.

As you are aware, it is virtually impossible to find a schedule that will accommodate everyone, but the attempt was to schedule a variety of times to hopefully enable ample opportunity for input and feedback from our colleagues and College stakeholders.
