The Middle States Visiting
Team Review has and will assess the College in
four ways:
1) Carefully read
the institution’s “Self-Study Report;”
2) Conduct
group and individual
interviews with key personnel and/or students or
recipients of service to extract validation to
self-study assertions and/or hypotheses;
3) Review documentation
of minutes, reports, data, etc. from the
resource file or specific files in the
Resource/Document Room and in some cases in the
various campus locations they visit (e.g.,
departments, library, labs, off-campus centers,
etc.); and
4) Conduct a
cross-correlation
of observations from conversations with the
College community.
Finally, the Team will examine a) the
accuracy/validation of the Self-Study, its
assertions or hypotheses and (b) the strengths
and/or challenges and the “recommendations for
action” relative to the area (s) and how these
will improve the institution. Please keep in
mind that the Team will provide the College with
an exit report on Wednesday November 1st.,
between 10am and 12pm in the Founders
Auditorium, and the Team Chairperson, Dr.
William L. Pollard will:
1) React to the Self-Study and the overall Team
Visit
2) Provide an overview of the Team’s impression
of the current state of the institution
regarding the Characteristics of Excellence in
general; and
3)
Provide impressions
of the College’s Self-Study Process.
