A Conversation with Juhanna Rogers of The Great 8

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

11:30 AM - 12:45 PM

In May 2016, Indiana University made the historic announcement that eight black women were graduating from the institution with their Ph.D. at the same time. In celebration of Women’s Herstory Month, Juhanna Rogers - a member of “The Great 8”- will give a lecture focused on her doctoral journey, and how the issues that arose during this journey were especially impacted by her race and gender.

Throughout history, women have continued to strive for a more equal and just world and contribute in countless ways to our character and progress as a people. The POWWER! (Passionate Outstanding Women Who Effortlessly Rock!) Series, created by Dr. Alexis McLean, Lecturer and Counselor in The Department of Special Programs, highlights extraordinary women who have advanced their field(s) while simultaneously serving and shaping their communities.
