Health Care and Referrals
The Office of Health Services offers medical referrals, preventive health counseling and college-wide health programs which include: the annual Health and Wellness Fair, health insurance advisement for eligible individuals, dental care referrals, medical and gynecologic care referral, and a comprehensive of HIV/STD counseling and testing program at the Office of Health Services and the Male Development Center, in collaboration with SUNY Downstate HEAT Program and Brooklyn Men Konnect (BMK). A limited supply of over the counter medications is available for students.
A Registered Nurse provides other health and wellness services in addition to the above mentioned including emergency first aid, wellness counseling, and supervision of the immunization programs mandated by New York State PHL 2165 and PHL 2167 sponsored by CUNY. Students’ immunization records: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) and Meningococcal Meningitis are reviewed and kept securely in the Health Services Office.
