Filing for graduation

Step 1

To apply for graduation, all prospective graduates are required submit following materials to their Academic Advisor:

  • A printout of EDUTRAC degree audit
  • A graduation application
  • A Graduating Student Questionnaire
  • Any appropriate waivers and/or petitions, including course substitution letters from Department Chairpersons.
  • Required only for students filing for a Bachelor's degree, a payment of $10 is made payable to Medgar Evers College (MEC) at the Bursar's Office, S-Building, Rm. 308. The receipt should be attached to the application.

Step 2

Once the application packet has been reviewed and signed by an academic advisor, the packet will be submitted to the
Registrar's Office, S-Building, Rm. 301.

Step 3

Once all of the grades have been submitted at the end of the semester, the Registrar's Office will conduct a final grade evaluation of all prospective graduates and mail out the official letter conferring student's degree. The SASS Center academic advisors will only notify students who are ineligible for graduation.

In addition,. Note: Participation in the Graduation Ceremony does not confirm a student's graduation from Medgar Evers College. In addition, ineligible students must re-file an application (including a revised worksheet and filing fee) for graduation eligibility for the subsequent graduation period.
